Knoxville, Tenn. (WVLT) -- The boys in blue went 6-5 last season after
bowing out in the first round of the playoffs. Farragut
is talented at the skill positions and on the defensive line, but
the Admirals do lack some depth on the interior lines heading
into the season.
This will be Eddie Courtney's 34th year
at the school. He's been head coach since 1992
and he's eager to get his Admirals back in the
State Championship hunt. The veteran coach
told us, "..I like our skill positions right now our quarterback position is competitive, the key to us is getting better as the season goes on and
getting ther back ups ready so we can make a playoff push."
A couple key returnees are defensive end Ben Dunn and Offensive tackle Nate Gilliam who says, "...We can improve on just coming together as a team buying into the coaches that's the huge thing I feel like."
Gilliam, the younger brother of Vol tackle Jacob Gilliam has a scholarship offer from Kentucky... UT and Vandy have also expressed interest in the Senior.
Gilliam and the Admirals open the season august 22nd
at home against Dobyns-Bennett.
