Knoxville, Tenn. (WVLT) -- Our countdown to kickoff continues now with the Morristown East Hurricanes and new head coach Dewayne Wells.
He may be new to the position, but not the school having served as defensive coordinator the past two seasons...
Last year the Canes won an impressive 10 games before bowing out to eventual state Champion Maryville, a team, whose standard of play, is something the Hurricanes realize they'll need to emulate in order to get to
to the state title game in Cookeville.
Wells:"..Our kids are hungry, we ended our season last year at Maryville and got beat, they handed it to us pretty good I think our kids experienced what it takes to win at a championship level, that's the mark and so we're trying to develop a championship theme at our school, do the things on a daily basis to have success at that level."
Wells, replaces Dwayne Hatcher at Morristown East which opens the season at home Saturday August 23rd against Alcoa.
