POWELL, Tenn. (WVLT) -- Too much change. Too many coaches.
You can't fault Powell football fans for saying such.
The Panthers are on their fourth football coach in as many years.
John Allen is new head coach. He knows before winning any football games, he must first win the trust of his players that have been through so much.
"(It's about) building relationships," Allen said.
"They've gone through a tough time with four head coaches in four years. But they're doing well. And I'm doing well. I tell them all the time, 'we don't work this hard not to win them all. Our desire is to win them all.'"
Last year, Powell won five games on its way to a 5-5 record. It was the first time the Panthers missed the playoffs since 2000.
Powell returns nine starters from last year's team, five on offense and four on defense.
The Panthers open up the season Friday at Fulton.
