KNOXVILLE, Tenn. - After five straight trips to the post-season the Rockwood Tigers enter 2014 looking to make it six straight. There is good reason to believe that trend will continue. The Tigers return seven starters on both sides of the ball. Having so much game experience from his upperclassmen gives the team confidence.
"I like our Senior class. We've got a lot of experience returning and we're just trying to put it all together, and it'll have another good season for us," says Rockwood head coach Joe Webb.
The Tigers are known for their running game. A group of talented backs have the ability to break off big gains. But their success on the ground starts with a very experienced and talented line up front. "It's the offensive line. Just having those big boys up front with how hard they work in practice makes it perfect," says Senior running back Drake Long.
Rockwood opens the season with one of the best matchups in all of East Tennessee. They hit the road to Oneida in Week Zero.
