MARYVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) -- If there is one thing that you can say about the Maryville Rebels football program it's that they win. George Quarles returns for his 15th season leading Maryville.
The Rebels went 14-1 last season, falling in the State Title game. That loss drives them as they begin Fall practice. "Hopefully that loss will motivate our kids but its not something that we've dwelled on or talked about a whole lot. Our guys have done a good job of staying motivated," Says Quarles.
But don't look for anything radically new from the Rebels. They have claimed 9 titles in Quarles time there. Senior Wide Receiver Cody Carroll knows the team has a proven plan for winning, "That's why we have been so successful the last two decades, because we come out here with a purpose. And that purpose is to get better everyday and be the best that we can be."
The Rebels open the season against defending State Champions the Webb Spartans.
