SEVIERVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) -- Sevier County head coach Steve Brewer is back for his 20th season with the program.
Brewer has been a mainstay with the Smoky Bears, and so has winning.
The Smoky Bears have tallied 18 wins the last two years. If Sevier County is to make another playoff run, they'll have to rely in a relatively new-look defense.
The team returns just four starters on that side of the ball, and Brewer points out that his defense line will be his least experienced unit.
Sevier County does return seven starters on offense, including quarterback Cullen Lavoi.
Brewer has high praise for the offensive line that will protect Lavoi throughout the season.
The Smoky Bears open up the season August 19 at home against William Blount.
