KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) -- 2010 was another playoff year for the Farragut Admirals. Talk to head coach Eddie Courtney and he doesn't see why 2011 will be any different.
The Admirals will look to improve on last year's 7-5 record and with senior quarterback Cody Rule back under center, there's optimism that could happen.
Rule was the Admirals leading passer and rusher last fall. He totaled over 1,200 yards of offense and tallied 16 touchdowns.
Beyond Rule, look for athlete Jacob Johnson to make an impact. The versatile Johnson will be featured in Farragut's running game, as well as the defensive backfield. Johnson recorded two interceptions last year.
Courtney feels his team's strengths are going to be the the offensive line and quarterback. There is also a competitive battle for the starting wide receiver position.
Courtney is concerned about the experience on the defensive line and linebackers.
Farragut opens up the season at home against Kingsport Dobyns-Bennett August 19.
