MORRISTOWN (WVLT) -- The Morristown East Hurricanes reached the playoffs last season, and they hope to build on that in 2011. The Hurricanes finished 5-6 overall and lost to Powell 41-0 in the first-round of the postseason.
With six starters returning on offense and seven on defense, the Hurricanes' experience will be a strength this season. Quarterback Cody Ricker, linebacker Nick Free and offensive lineman "TT" Garretson are all seniors and will be third-year starters. The Hurricanes will need more development across the offensive line if they want to go further in the playoffs.
The Hurricanes have big games against Bearden, West, Jefferson County and rival Morristown West.
