Maryville, Tenn. (WVLT) - After going their own ways following their senior season, Dion Fair and Will Winton of Bryan College got back together with former bulldog teammate Spencer Peake, who now plays for Maryville College.
Seeing his former teammates in a different jersey is a bit odd says Peake, "It is pretty weird. I've never gone against those guys. I've been on the same sideline as them, same huddle."
They were not the only members from last years state runner up squad in attendance. Their former coach, Mark Blevins was in the crowd tonight. Blevins says that he was more nervous during this game than he is when he is coaching, "I'm kind of on the edge of my seat hoping that everyone plays well and pulling for both teams. Especially my kids that are playing."
There was some fun, friendly trash talking between the 3 players in the form of social media Will Winton says, "We're doing a little Facebook messaging back and forth but, i mean, hopefully we'll come out with a win today so i can have bragging rights for a time." Peake echos his sentiments on bragging rights, "all 3 of us have been talking a little trash on who we think is going to win. We see each other a lot in the summer and when we have breaks so we're going to want to be able to talk that trash."
Fair finished the game with 14 points, but it was Peake earning the bragging rights with an 81-68 Maryville College win.
