BONE EXPECTED TO MISS AT LEAST EIGHT WEEKS WITH FRACTURED WRIST

Tennessee senior associate athletic trainer Chad Newman reported Friday that senior basketball player Josh Bone sustained a fractured left wrist during the Vols’ exhibition win over Brevard on Wednesday. Dr. Robert Ivy, of Knoxville Orthopedic Clinic, said Bone is expected to be sidelined for at least eight weeks.

The injury occurred during the second half of Wednesday’s game, when Bone drove to the basket and landed hard on the court.

As a junior walk-on last season, Bone saw action in 15 games and had just two turnovers in 146 minutes played (9.7 mpg). The Nashville, Tenn., native played an important role in several Tennessee victories, most notably wins over Ole Miss and Ohio in the NCAA Tournament.

He was placed on scholarship by head coach Bruce Pearl this past summer.
