ONEIDA, Tenn. - Greenback never gave up in their game Thursday night at Oneida. The Cherokees would comeback from a 35-14 2nd quarter deficit to get a 42-38 win.
Jordan Anderson led the way with nearly 200 yards rushing and touchdown. And he knew his team had no quit in them. "We've been down in situations like that. We were down to Gatlinburg-Pittman 15 at the half. We have an explosive offense, so whenever we tackle we know we can come back," Anderson said.
Greenback would complete the comeback with a pair of long touchdown passes from Samuel McCloud. One covered 66-yards to Braxton Fox. The other one was a 44-yard TD strike to Brock Moore.
Cole West had a big night for Oneida in the Indians loss.
Oneida takes next week off before traveling to Oakdale on October 4. Greenback also takes next week off before hitting the road to Rockwood.
