GREENEVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) - For over a decade the Greeneville Boys and Girls Club has hosted a Pitch, Hit and Run Tournament on the Local for Major League Baseball. Winners on the local level move on to Sectionals. A trip to a Major League park and the All-Star game await those players who keep winning.
While winning certainly is a goal for the young athletes, there is one thing more important than that, and that would be beating your best friend.
"They're bragging and stuff, saying their going to win. So I'm just going to try my best and beat them," says 12-year old Nathaniel Ritchie.
The event has undergone some changes in the past few years. Most notably, adding softball along with baseball.
