Heritage coach Brint Russell steps down

BLOUNT COUNTY, Tenn. (WVLT) - Heritage football coach Brint Russell has announced his resignation, affective following Friday night's game with West.

Russell was head coach of the Mountaineers for the past 3 seasons, leading the Mountaineers to an 8-21 mark heading into Friday night's game. That is an improvement over the 5-25 mark the team had the previous 3 seasons before he got there. Russell says, "I felt like me and my staff did a good job to bring about changes to the program."

Russell says simply that is "time for a change."
