RJ you blame Hamilton yet Bruce carries no responsibility for this situation. When is this town going to look at the root case. It was Bruce and his staff's actions that caused these bad times. It's always easy to project your blame when the qiulty party is pretty and well liked. As a parent how am I to explain to my kids who I teach not to lie and always tell the truth ask why did Coach Pearl lie. When our heroes fail it hurts, but Pearls actions have effected more than just him. Pearls commit "I did this to myself" is wrong he did it to all of us. We all now suffer the concequences of Pearls actions not Hamiltons. Thanks Mike for your stand on the moral high ground. Wrong is wrong and right is right.

It's time for Mike Hamilton to move on to his next job. That was really dumb raising questions about Pearl's job right before our game with Michigan. Why couldn't he show more maturity and waited until later. Maybe someday he will grow up. He has caused enough trouble to last a lifetime.

The title "Interum" is there for a reason. He is only a fill in until they hire a full time coach. That doesn't mean he cannot become the next head coach, after all, he did take Appy St. to the sweet 16. That's pretty impressive considering they are APPY ST!

Mike Hamilton and Mike Hamilton alone has destroyed the dignity/integrity of U T men's athletics.

@Keith - Tony Jones in addition to the rest of Bruce Pearl's selected staff was relieved of their positions, so he was never a candidate for the interim position. Do some research. @Libby - "lesser school" is an arbitrary description you seem to think appropriate here. Many small schools have outstanding athletics programs despite competing in divisions with other smaller schools. In 2007 Appalachian State beat #5 ranked Michigan 34-32, proving that "lesser schools" can compete in larger divisions. @Everyone - Mike Hamilton was pinned down in this decision by the NCAA -- fire Pearl and suffer minimal sanctions or keep Pearl and suffer more sanctions including loss of a large number of scholarships. I have always been a Pearl supporter, but he consented to the NCAA's terms, as well as the terms of his relief from the university. I think he would rather no see his program suffer further.

Once again Hamilton proves he should be gone and not Bruce. Why would you not make Tony Jones, Interim Head Coach. You have someone running the Athletic Department that appears to not have a clue about athletics. No wonder the football program is at the bottom. Are they going to let Hamilton destroy the basketball program? It will take many years to rebound and rebuild the program. And with Hamilton at the realms, it will not be able to rebound, it will always be at the bottom.

WHY would UT go with a coach that's been fired by a lesser school and PROMOTE him to Interim Head Coach? I think it shows lack of judgement AGAIN on the part of "mr." hamilton. I think Hamilton should be the FIRST to go. He had 'responsibility' for the coaches and the basketball program.
