Lambert takes over as Oneida's head coach

ONEIDA, Tenn. (WVLT) -- Tony Lambert is returning to Oneida.

A source close to the situation has confirmed to Local 8 Sports that Lambert is leaving as Scott's head coach for the same position at Oneida High School.

Lambert spent two years at Scott. In 2010, he was an assistant, and then was promoted to head coach in 2011.

Scott went 5-6 last year, losing to Greeneville in the first round of the playoffs.

This will be Lambert's second stint as Oneida's head coach. The defensive minded Lambert also coached the Indians during the 2007-2008 seasons. The Indians went 20-6 during that time, which included an appearance in the state semifinals in 2008.

Lambert left Oneida after 2008 season after he accepted the head coaching position at Anderson County.
