KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) -- High school athletes from all across East Tennessee are deciding where they want to spend the next few years of their lives on Wednesday. It's Signing Day and seniors all over the country are declaring where they intend to play in college.
Bearden High running back Devrin Young has already signed on the dotted line and will be spending next fall wearing orange on the sidelines of Neyland Stadium. He'll be joined by fellow Vol signee Kyler Kerbyson, an offensive lineman from Knoxville Catholic.
Harriman High School's Shaquille Love will be lining up on the other side of the ball during the Border Battle. As expected, the offensive lineman has signed to play for Kentucky.
A trio of players from Farragut High school will now head their separate ways.Offensive lineman Bobby Fricks has signed with Carson-Newman College. Defensive back Taino Perez said he will go to the University of Tennessee-Martin and long snapper Josh Hensley plans to attend Lindsey Wilson College.
Five other Knoxville Catholic football players will be heading in different directions. Joey Gaston has signed on as a Midshipman with the U.S. Naval Academy. Cody Shirley will go to the Virginia Military Institute, while Mike Wegzyn will head to New England to play for UMass.
Zach Cooper agreed to play for the University of Charleston and Alex Saah is going to Lindsey Wilson College.
A couple of teammates at Knoxville Catholic, Morgan Stiles and Tyler Wilson, will continue playing together at Tennessee Weslyan College.
Joanna Thompson will run Cross Country at the University of North Carolina. Josh Lucheon will swim for Carnegie Mellon and Alec Cunningham will tee off this foll at Tusculum College.
Two of Bearden's Soccer standouts also signed with their schools Wednesday. Seth Williams is going to Appalachian State University, while Allison Daniels heads west to Middle Tennessee State University.
