Memphis transfer Dominic Woodson joins Vols

Knoxville, Tenn.--(Volquest.com/WVLT) Rob Lewis of our media partner Volquest.com reports that Memphis basketball player Dominic Woodson has cleared NCAA waivers and has transferred to Tennessee. Lewis says Woodson will begin practicing with the team on Thursday.

Memphis announced last week that Woodson was transferring. Woodson, who is 6-foot-10, played 20 games and averaged 2.5 points and 1.9 rebounds for Memphis as a freshman last season.

It's certainly a nice get for head coach Donnie Tyndall given the loss of transfer Eric McKnight over the Summer and the departure of post players Jarnell Stokes and Jeronne Maymon from last years squad.

Woodson is expected to be eligible to play this year and have three season's of eligibility remaining.
