Murfreesboro, Tenn. (WVLT) -- State Tournament play is underway in Division-II and there was
mixed results for Webb School in the Division II-A Semifinals on Thursday.
An exciting finish in the boys game. Webb's Austin Cox missed a pair of
free throws late with his team leading 54-53.
That opened the door for Franklin Road Academy's Tori Smith to hit
a three pointer at the buzzer. The shot gave the Panthers a 56-54 win
and sent the FRA fans rushing the court at Allen Arena in Nashville.
The outcome wasn't as much in doubt for the Webb girls earlier in the day. Shelly Sexton Colliers Lady Spartans led throughout their Semifinal match-up against Ezell-Harding and cruised to a 54-41 win.
Webb advances to Saturday's girls Division II-A finals against Northpoint. It's a game you'll see at 2:00pm. on MyVLT.
