UNDATED (WVLT) -- 32 total championships took to the football field at Maryville High School Saturday.
Maryville (12 titles), Alcoa (12 titles), Webb (5 titles), and Cleveland (3 titles) all took part in a doubleheader at the school.
In the first game, Alcoa played Cleveland. The Tornadoes beat the Blue Raiders 21-0, running their winning streak to 44 games. Alcoa enters the 2011 season having won seven straight state championships.
In the nightcap, Maryville beat Webb 30-7. North Carolina commitment Patton Robinette was 12-14 with three total touchdowns.
Next Saturday, Alcoa will take on Maryville. You can watch the game on WVLT at 7 pm.
Morristown's Burke-Toney Stadium also featured a twin bill. Morristown West, Morristown East, Fulton, and Harlan Co. (KY) all took to the turf at the stadium.
Morristown West beat Fulton in the opener 42-20. The Trojans led 7-0 at the half, but scored 21 third quarter points to take control of the game.
West running back Wesley Goins tallied 131 yards on 15 carries.
In the second game, Harlan County blanked Morristown East 36-0.
Football was also played at Central High School Saturday night. The Bobcats and Catholic resumed their game from Friday night, which was delayed by bad weather.
The Irish beat Central 21-14.
Catholic running back Nolan Coulter ran for 134 yards and two touchdowns in the win.
