KNOXVILLE (WVLT) -- Tennessee appears to be shooting high in the search for its new basketball coach.
Pittsburgh coach Jamie Dixon and Villanova coach Jay Wright are among the coaches Tennessee is interested in pursuing to replace fired basketball coach Bruce Pearl, according to GoVolsXtra.com.
Alabama coach Anthony Grant, Texas A&M coach Mark Turgeon and Wichita State coach Gregg Marshall are also on Tennessee's short list, according to a report by GoVolsXtra's Mike Griffith, who cites an anonymous source.
Wright has been at Villanova since 2001. Dixon just finished his eighth season at Pitt.
Anthony Grant came to Alabama from Virginia Commonwealth two seasons ago, and nearly led the Crimson Tide to the NCAA Tournament this season.
