I can see both sides of the argument. It doesn't seem fair sometimes that schools like Ensworth and Baylor are placed in the same division with much less talented schools. However, that is the game of football. In football, you don't complain, if you want to get anything done, it must be proved on the field, not with words. I am a senior on a smaller team that got crushed by Ensworth. We figured we would lose but when it came time to play, we worked to prove what we had. None of regret anything about the division except not winning.

Chip, if you don't think recruiting goes on fairly unabated in the public school systems you are a bit naive. I was also naive to it but a friend who coached football in one of the counties biggest schools let me in on the secret and how it can be accomplished. I recall coach Helton getting caught several years ago and there was a recent case in Blount county. It usually involves kids with plenty of talent but an economic hardship but it is not limited to that situation.

Please return the playoffs to their former format. The present format is too confusing and is grossly unfair to smaller schools in each quadrant. Assign all private and church schools out of the public schools playoffs. Too much recruiting and advantage to private and church affiliated schools.
