LEXINGTON, Ky. (AP) -- Kentucky wide receivers coach Tee Martin has been promoted to passing game coordinator.
Coach Joker Phillips announced the promotion on Saturday, adding Martin has also agreed to a contract extension with the Wildcats. The terms were not disclosed. Martin's previous contract was set to expire in 2012.
The former star quarterback at Tennessee just completed his first season as wide receivers coach at Kentucky. Martin said he'd been contacted by other schools over the last few weeks but never came close to leaving, citing his loyalty to Phillips and Kentucky athletic director Mitch Barnhart.
Martin oversaw a unit that was among the Southeastern Conference's best in 2010, led by first-team All-American Randall Cobb and senior Chris Matthews.
