Tennessee Trio headed to Raycom All Star Classic

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. – Tennessee seniors Ben Bartholomew, Zach Rogers and Prentiss Waggner have all been invited to play in the inaugural Raycom College Football All-Star Classic. The game will be played at the Cramton Bowl in Montgomery, Ala., on Saturday, Jan. 19, and will be broadcast on CBS Sports Network at 3 p.m. ET.

The game will cap off the week-long event which will feature elite college football seniors participating in NFL-formatted practices that are open to the public. The potential NFL prospects will be coached by former NFL head coaches Dan Reeves and Jim Bates.

A 6-2, 182-pound defensive back with the ability to play both cornerback and safety, Waggner finished his career at Rocky Top with 159 tackles, nine interceptions and 24 passes defended which ties for 10th in school history. As a senior, the Clinton, La., native finished sixth on the team with 48 tackles, along with two picks and a forced fumble.

On the offensive side of the ball, Rogers played in 48 games as a wide receiver in his four years with the Big Orange, hauling in 63 passes for 906 yards and nine touchdowns. Seven of those scores came during his breakout senior campaign as he was one of the team’s top targets with 32 catches for 491 yards.

At the fullback position, the 6-2, 252-pound Bartholomew displayed a knack for blocking while also posing a threat in both the running and passing games out of the backfield. The Nashville native played in 31 games for the Vols, during which he caught 17 passes for 156 yards and a touchdown.
