UConn, Kentucky advance to national title game

ARLINGTON, Texas (AP) -- Connecticut will not ride a one-man gang into the national championship game this time.

Shabazz Napier is still the leader, but DeAndre Daniels and Ryan Boatright have taken their turns at the wheel.

Daniels carried UConn out of an early funk to finish with 20 points and 10 rebounds, and Boatright gave the Huskies a lift at both ends in a 63-53 victory over Florida in the Final Four Saturday night

Napier was quiet early, but still finished with a steady game, finishing with 12 points and six assists.

But it was Daniels and Boatright who proved to be the difference-makers for the seventh-seeded Huskies (31-8), earning them a spot in Monday's championship game against Kentucky or Wisconsin.

ARLINGTON, Texas (AP) -- The headlines will go to those unflappable Harrison twins, Andrew who passed to his brother Aaron for the 3-pointer that lifted Kentucky into yet another national championship game.

They owe a considerable debt of gratitude to fellow freshman James Young.

So often overlooked in favor of his more decorated teammates, Young scored a game-high 17 points in the Wildcats' dramatic 74-73 victory over Wisconsin on Saturday night.

It was his grit when things were going rough that kept Kentucky in the game. Young scored nine of them in the first half, when nothing seemed to be going right, and then jumpstarted the big second-half run that forced the game to go down to the wire.

And gave those plucky Harrisons a chance to ultimately win the game.
