University of Tennessee assistant softball coach marty McDaniel suffered a heart attack on Wednesday according to a release by the
McDaniel apparently suffered the episode following a prolonged exercise session.
He is said to be resting comfortably at the cardiac intensive care unit of UT Medical Center and is expected to be released as early as Thursday.
Lady Vols Athletics Director Joan Cronan tweeted that McDaniel is resting comfortably and can't wait to get out of the hospital.
Co-Head coach Ralph and Karen Weekly both spoke with McDaniel following his surgery earlier today and said " he was alert, looked good and was anxious to get out of the hospital." They went on to say, "we are thankful for the outstanding care he's gotten and pray for his speedy recovery."
