KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) -- CBS Sports is reporting that Louisville head coach Charlie Strong is trying to decide between a contract extension at Louisville of an offer to become Tennessee's new head coach.
Louisville (10-2, 5-2 Big East) earned its second straight share of the Big East title after defeating Rutgers on the last week of the regular season. The Cardinals earned the conference's automatic qualifying bid to the BCS and will face Florida in the Sugar Bowl on Jan. 2.

Earlier Wednesday CBSSPORTS.COM reported that Tennessee had offered the job to Oklahoma State's Mike Gundy. Later in the afternoon that offer was turned down according to ESPN.com who reported this that Gundy will stay at Oklahoma State
Tennessee is replacing Derek Dooley who was fired last month after going 4-7 and having gone 1-14 in SEC play the past two seasons. Sources say UT hopes to have its new coach on board by the end of this week.
