KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) -- The University of Tennessee rolled out its 2013-14 Men's Basketball Schedule on Tuesday. In addition to regular SEC gauntlet, the Volunteers season features major match ups against NC State, Xavier, Virginia and 2013 Final Four participant Wichita State.
The new schedule was also notable for some of its absences. We already knew Kentucky wouldn't be coming to Knoxville for the first time in over 60 years. And, the Volunteers won't play at Georgia at all, snapping a streak that dated back a half-century.
The Vols will play seven games against teams that finished in the top 50 in RPI last season and 10 games against teams that had 20 or more wins.
Tennessee will also head to the Bahamas for the Battle 4 Atlantis Tournament over the Thanksgiving holiday.
Season tickets go on sale starting Tuesday, Sept. 10, and can be purchased by visiting www.UTTIX.com or calling 1-800-332-VOLS (8657).
