MURFREESBORO, Tenn. (WVLT) -- The Wartburg Lady Bulldogs saw their tremendous season come to an end Thursday afternoon.
In the class A state quarterfinals, Union City beat Wartburg 56-33. For the Lady Bulldogs, the loss snapped a 15-game winning streak.
Wartburg ends the year with a 22-5 record.
"We had just about as good of a year as we've ever had at our school," Wartburg head coach Jason Davis said.
"With the youth that we've got coming back maybe we can make another run somewhere in the future."
Kristie Phillips paced the Lady Bulldogs with 11 points.
Before qualifying for state, Wartburg won both the district and regional tournaments.
