Webb girls win state championship

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) — Webb went wire-to-wire to win the program's fourth state championship.

The Lady Spartans beat Northpoint Christian 58-40 Saturday afternoon on the campus of Lipscomb University to claim the Division II, Class A state title.

Webb led by 8 after the third quarter, but pulled away in the fourth to take command of the game. The Lady Spartans outscored Northpoint 20-10 in the final frame.

Dasia Maxwell paced the Lady Spartans with 13. Sophomore guard Micah Scheetz added 12.

Webb was making its 12th appearance in the title game.
