KNOXVILLE - Webb School of Knoxville senior Megan Hatcher has committed to play volleyball at University of Tennessee, Knoxville. Webb will celebrate Hatcher's decision to play at UT, Friday, September 30, at 12:10 P.M. in Webb's Lee Athletic Center.
Co-captain of this year's varsity volleyball team, Hatcher was a major player in leading the Lady Spartans to a semi-final appearance at last year's Division II-A state championship and a runner-up finish the year before - the Lady Spartans' first-ever state title match appearance.
As of September 23 of this year, the senior libero led her team in both digs (260) and passing percentage (87.83%) for the season, and chalked up 13 aces and 18 kills.
“Megan has worked very hard to become the best defensive player I have ever coached,” says Webb head varsity volleyball coach, Dennis Ray. “Her ability to anticipate where the ball is going sets her apart from other defenders.”
