Cookeville, TN. (WVLT-TV), David Meske's Webb School Spartans have won the 2010 Division-II, Class-A state title by defeating the St.George's Gryphons 42-7 at Tennessee Tech University.
The Spartans scored on their first three posessions of the game. Caleb Blance crossed the goal line first. Then Webb made it 14-0 when UT baseball signee and quarterback Parker Wormsley tossed a short touchdown pass to Caleb's brother Aaron Blance. The offensive onslaught continued in the second quarter as Aaron Blance runs it in to make it 21-0. The Spartans led 28-0 at the half and would add two more scores after the break.
Caleb Blance is your offensive player of the game. 30-carries for 216 yards and two touchdowns.
The Spartans were also tough on defense. The player of the game on that side of the ball, Matthew Melton who intercept three Gryphon's passes on the night.
Webb closes out a perfect 13-0 season, their first title
after going undefeated.
