Webb's Mitchell commits to Georgia Tech

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) -- Webb linebacker Brant Mitchell committed to Georgia Tech Saturday.

"I have officially committed to Georgia Tech. #GoJackets," Mitchell wrote on his Twitter account (@bmitch43) Saturday afternoon.

He's the second Knoxville-area commitment in as many months for the Yellow Jackets, as West running back Nathan Cottrell committed to the school in June.

The 6'3", 248 pound Mitchell picked the Jackets over the likes of Duke, Louisville, and Mississippi State.

In 2013, Mitchell helped Webb win the Division II, Class A state championship.

He was also named that classification's Mr. Lineman award winner a season ago.
