KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) -- The offer list continued to grow, but West High School running back Nathan Cottrell had seen enough after visiting Georgia Tech.
"The facilities are as good as any other college I've seen if not better," Cottrell told WVLT.
Throw in the academic reputation Georgia Tech has, and Cottrell was ready to commit to the Yellow Jackets, something he did Monday night.
"It's always been a dream of mine to play at this level of football and I am so thankful for it starting to become a reality."
Cottrell has been tearing up the camp circuit in recent weeks with his speed. The 5'10, 185 pound running back has consistently ran between a 4.33 to 4.36 forty time.
The rising senior was nearly unstoppable in 2013. He averaged over 15 yards per carry, helping the Rebels to a spot in the Class 5A state title game.
Georgia Tech head coach Paul Johnson features a run-heavy offensive attack. That system was also appealing to Cottrell, as he said he's looking forward to the opportunity to be an every-down back.
