UT CAMPUS (WVLT) -- It's only appropriate that the Olympic diving hopefuls would compete for a spot to represent the U.S.A. on Independence Day.

The men's and women's 10-meter platform divers competed Friday at the Allan Jones Aquatic Center, in front of a robust Fourth-of-July crowd.

The divers commented on what it meant to be able to fight for national supremacy on the nation's first holiday.
