Portland, Oregon (WVLT-TV), The Morristown South Region All-Stars are one win away from a Little League World Series championship.
The 12 and 13 year olds from Hamblen County defeated the team
from Waterford, CT 10-1 in six innings Tuesday night to advance to Wednesday's title game.
Mallory Black led a potent Morristown offensive attack with three of her team's eleven hits. The South All Stars scored three times in the first and then in each frame after against Waterford.
Solid in the circle for Morristown was pitcher Jodie King, who tossed a complete game, giving up only three hits and one run.
And so it'll be Morristown and Elgin for the LLSWS title on Wednesday night in Portland. The game will be broadcast nationally by ESPN2, with first pitch scheduled for shortly after 9:30pm.
