Force fall to Chattanooga 1-0 in home opener

Knoxville, Tenn. (Force Release) - After a spoiler 1-0 victory over Chattanooga FC the previous week in Chattanooga, the Knoxville Force took the field for a rematch with CFC at Regal Stadium on the UT campus. The game began under cloudy skies, providing for a cool environment on the field for the players and in the stadium for the more than 850 fans in attendance.

The Force and CFC played head-to-head soccer throughout the first half, with the teams going in at halftime in a 0-0 tie.

Chattanooga scored the first goal at 59:17, on a shot by Irvin Espinal. A lot of pressure and several shots on goal by the Force in the last several minutes of the game weren’t successful as CFC avenged their season opening loss with their own 1-0 win over the Force. Knoxville and Chattanooga both now have 1-1 records for the season.
