KODAK, Tenn. (team release) -- Jae-Hoon Ha’s RBI triple in the eighth inning broke a 3-3 tie in the eighth inning and led the Tennessee Smokies to a 4-3 win over the Mobile BayBears (27-36, 67-66) Sunday evening at Smokies Park. The win, in front of 3,853, improved the Smokies second-half record to 31-32, 66, 67 overall. Tennessee currently sits five games back in the second-half standings behind the Chattanooga Lookouts.

With the game tied 3-3 in the eighth, Matt Szczur led off the inning with a walk by Evan Marshall (6-3) and advanced to second by a sacrifice bunt by Logan Watkins. Ha tripled down the left field line to score Szczur and give the Tennessee the 4-3 advantage.

Early in the game, the Smokies jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the second inning off BayBears starter David Holmberg. Justin Bour led off the frame with a walk and Rubi Silva singled. Mike Brenly advanced both runners with a sacrifice bunt and Elliot Soto hit an infield single to shortstop Chris Owings to score Bour from third, and Owings misplayed the ball allowing Silva to score from second.

Mobile answered in the third inning, all with two outs. With starter Eric Jokisch on the mound, four consecutive hits led to three Mobile runs to give the BayBears a 3-2 lead.

Tennessee tied the game at three in the sixth inning. Ha led off with a double, advanced to third on a Bour groundout and scored on a Silva sacrifice fly to knot the game 3-3.

Jokisch allowed three runs on eight hits while striking out four in seven innings of work. Trey McNutt (9-8) picked up the win for the Smokies tossing two scoreless innings allowing a hit and striking out one.

Tennessee and Mobile will continue their five-game series on Monday night at 7:15 at Smokies Park. The Smokies will send righty Dae-Eun Rhee (8-8, 5.07) to the mound while right-hander Michael Bolsinger (4-2, 3.90) start for the BayBears.
