Ice Bears get a cut for cancer

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) - The sounds of razors filled the air in the Ice Bears locker room. It was the sound of support for their number 1 fan. Several players and front office members shaved their heads in support of Brenda Cox, the teams number 1 fan who is battling cancer.

Captain David Segal said it was an easy decision to shave their heads along with Cox who is losing her hair due to chemo treatments. "Well we were just talking about it the other day and she just said I'm about to lose my hair so I said I'll just lose mine too. And then I got a couple of guys and we decided we'd do it."

Head coach Mike Craigen is not at all surprised by Segal's sacrifice, praising the forward. "That's the big reason he's got the captains "C" on his sweater. He's a heart and soul kind of guy. He's got one of the biggest hearts I've ever seen in my life."
