Knoxville,TN--(WVLT-TV), The Knoxville Ice Bears opened the best of three SPHL semifinal playoff series against the Pensacola Ice Flyers Thursday night.
A very physical game saw the visitors strike first late in the first period. Off the power play, Pensacola's Tyler Soehner shot one past Knoxville goalie Kyle Rank. The Ice Flyers would go on to score three more times and defeat the Ice Bears 4-1.
It's do or die time for Knoxville just as it was in the team's first round series against the RiverKings. Knoxville came back from a game down to win that series 2-1. Coach Mike Craigen's team will have to do it again, beginning with game two of this series with the Ice Flyers, Saturday night at 8:05 down in Pensacola.
A win would force a third and deciding game back in Knoxville on Sunday for the Ice Bears, who are trying to win League Championship number four in the last ten years.
