It's a doubleheader sweep for the Force at Regal Stadium

Knoxville, Tenn.(Force Release) -- Following a 3-2 on the road loss to the Mississippi Storm in Ocean Springs, MS, last week, the Knoxville Force brought their season to record to 5-3 and held onto third place in the NPSL Southeast Conference with a 2-1 win over the Storm on Friday evening at Regal Stadium. The Force’s Frank Dumbe scored the first goal of the game with a header... in the 30th minute off a cross sent to him by Andrew Palumbo. The teams went into the locker room at halftime with the Force holding a 1-0 lead.

The Storm scored in the 76th minute of the game making it 1-1 off an unassisted goal by Ivan Lopez. Force player Niall McCabe was taken down in the box and scored off of the resulting penalty kick in the 86th minute of the game giving the Force a 2-1 victory over Mississippi. Knoxville Lady Force Victorious Over Mississippi Fuego

Following a 2-1 on the road victory over the Georgia Revolution this past week, the Knoxville Lady Force brought their season to record 3-2 and moved into second place in the WPSL Southeast Conference with a 2-0 win over the Mississippi Fuego from Jackson, Mississippi, on Friday evening at Regal Stadium. Anna McClung, a new addition to the Lady Force who will be heading to Florida State to play soccer this fall, drilled an unassisted goal just before the teams went to the locker rooms for halftime.

The Lady Force came out strong in the second half and continued to press hard. A rocket shot by Martha Hall, a soccer standout from Knoxville Catholic High School, just missed over the post before Duggan Hahn finished a cross from Caroline Brown in the 86th minute for another Lady Force goal. Final score, Lady Force-2, Mississippi Fuego-0. The Lady Force will be traveling to Pensacola next Saturday to play the Gulf Coast Texans.
