Lady Force win inaugural home opener, beat Georgia 2-1

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (Force release) -- On a beautiful 71⁰ Saturday afternoon, the newly franchised Knoxville Lady Force took the field at Regal Soccer Stadium for their inaugural home opener against the Georgia Revolution. After the Lady Force started off with several shots on goal, the Revolution scored the first goal in the 26th minute of the game. After several more shots on goal by both teams, they retired to the locker rooms at halftime with the Lady Revolution leading the Lady Force 1-0.

The second half started off initially with both teams moving the ball into scoring range early but not being able to finish with the goals. Annie Galloway, former Academic All American player from the University of South Carolina scored the Lady Force’s first goal 14 minutes into the second half. Caroline Brown scored a beautiful goal for the Lady Force in extended time after the 90 minute mark. Lady Force wins their inaugural home opener 2-1!
Georgia Revolution 2, Knoxville Force 1

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (Force release) -- The Knoxville Force took the field at Regal Stadium on a near-perfect Saturday evening to play Georgia Revolution, last season’s co-champions of the NPSL Southeastern Conference. Their game followed the inaugural home game of the Knoxville Lady Force who defeated the Lady Georgia Revolution in an exciting game which the Lady Force won 2-1 in an extended-time session. The Force came into the game with a 2 and 1 record.

Georgia’s Mark Lavery scored the first goal at 14:50 into the first half which ended up being the only score of the first half.

Two minutes ten seconds into the second half Brandon Tarr scored for the Knoxville Force. Shawn Grissom of the Revolution scored at 71:11. After three minutes of stoppage time, Georgia Revolution tops the Knoxville Force 2:1 at the final whistle.
