Maryville loses at state to Siegel, 53-47

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. (WVLT) -- Maryville lost to Siegel 53-47 in the class AAA quarterfinals in the boys' state championship in Murfreesboro on Wednesday.

It was just a 25-23 Siegel lead at the half, but the Stars plunged ahead in the third quarter outscoring Maryville 14-5.

The Rebels did bounce back in the fourth quarter scoring 19 points, but it wasn't enough to overcome the Siegel lead.

Maryville was led by Clark McCall who finished the game with 18 points.

Maryville ends the year 27-8.
