Murfreesboro keeps Spring Fling, basketball meets

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. (AP) -- The Tennessee Secondary Schools Athletic Association board will continue to hold its state basketball tournaments and the Spring Fling championships in Rutherford County for five more years.

Spring Fling is held at locations across the county and the state basketball playoffs are at Middle Tennessee State University in Murfreesboro.

The Daily News Journal (http://on.dnj.com/MsoQ6W ) reports that Spring Fling brings in an estimated $3.5 million in tourism spending for the county while the basketball tournament leads to $3 million in tourism.
