Smokies' season ends after 7-4 loss

KODAK, Tenn. (release) -- The Tennessee Smokies were eliminated from the 2013 Southern League playoffs Monday night at Smokies Park, losing by a final score of 7-4 against the Birmingham Barons.

A costly, four-error inning broke a 2-2 tie in the fourth with the Barons plating four runs. Javier Baez crushed a mammoth two-run home run to bring the Smokies back, but the offense could not get anything else started for a comeback.
