Stiles wins News Sentinel Open presented by Pilot

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (AP/WVLT) -- Darron Stiles won the News Sentinel Open on Sunday for his fifth career Web.com Tour title, closing with a 4-under 67 for a one-stroke victory.

The 39-year-old Stiles finished at 18-under 266 at Fox Den and earned $90,000 to jump from 30th to eighth on the money list with $200,911. The final top 25 will earn 2013 PGA Tour cards.

Knoxville is becoming a good city for the North Carolina native. Sunday's win marks his second News Sentinel Open victory.

"My wife has family that lives here in the area," Stiles said. "So we've always loved coming here. And to win in 2002 and to come back and do it exactly almost 10 years later. It's a great feeling."

Stiles takes with him $90,000 for winning the tournament.

Scott Gardiner shot a 62 to tie for second with D.J. Brigman and Nicholas Thompson. Brigman closed with a 63, and Thompson had a 64.
