NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Food City 500 Practice Bristol Motor Speedway
Knoxville, TN (WVLT) - Trevor Bayne is a good driver. But that doesn't always equate to sponsorship money. So in stepped the guys at yourracecar.com who are selling small sponsorships to the average fan.
Preston Garland with yourracecar.com believes that fans will take advantage of the opportunity, "We kind of kicked it around a bit. We thought it was unique. We thought a lot of fans would appreciate that aspect of having your actual name on the car during an actual race." One of his partners, Brad McCurry, agrees, "There's no other experience like that for a NASCAR fan that you can get for a NASCAR fan. It really is a once and a lifetime opportunity."
You can put your name or picture on the actual racecar that Trevor Bayne will drive at the Bristol Nationwide race in August.
Garland says the prices are very affordable, "Yeah, $20 gets your name actually printed on the car. You get a certificate that says as much and things along those lines."
The printing will be small, and with all the space on the car as many as 51,000 names could be riding along with Trevor. That support is something that Brandon Flynn with yourracecar.com says is needed, "Fans, please come out and support Trevor. Keep him on the racetrack and we'll be sure to get your name on the car."
The sponsorship is already becoming a popular gift according to Flynn, "Your looking birthdays, graduations. You know, we have Father's Day coming up. Mother's Day coming up. Anniversaries. We've had a lot of people say they've had a father or a grandfather that's passed away 'in memory of'."
