Tennessee is 32-12 all-time against Arkansas. The Razorbacks took a 2-1 win in the teams' sole meeting in 2013 as inclement weather canceled two games of the series. The Lady Vols went 2-1 in their last trip to Fayetteville and are 8-2 in their last 10 games against Arkansas.
The Lady Vols are 11-6 all-time SEC openers and won their conference openers the last two seasons and four of the last five. UT's last loss in an SEC opener was a 9-6 setback at Kentucky on March 11, 2011.
Tennessee is coming off a 15-0 (5) home win over Western Carolina on March 11. UT's 15 runs in the win were a season high and the most runs the Lady Vols had put on the scoreboard since scoring 15 in a 15-5 (6) win at Ole Miss on April 20, 2013. The 15-run margin of victory was Tennessee's largest since winning by 18 in a 19-1 (5) triumph over Tennessee State on April 2, 2013. The Lady Vols tallied 14 hits in the win, its most since knocking 15 hits in a 14-3 romp against Oakland on Feb. 9.
Lexi Overstreet hit a two-run homer and Annie Aldrete blasted her first career grand slam and UT's first grand slam of 2014 in the win vs. Western Carolina.
Tennessee is batting .322 as a team. Madison Shipman leads the team with a .411 batting average (30-for-73) and seven home runs. Annie Aldrete is batting .397 and has a team-high 21 RBIs to go with seven doubles, two triples and three home runs.
The UT pitching staff has combined for a 1.20 ERA and opponents are batting just .174 against the Lady Vols. Ellen Renfroe is 13-0 with a 0.49 ERA and 113 strikeouts over 86.1 innings of work. She has held opposing hitters to a .155 batting average.
