OXFORD, Miss. (WVLT) -- The seventh-ranked Lady Vols have captured the 2011 SEC softball tournament championship.
Tennessee beat No. 8 Georgia 6-5 in eight innings for their second tournament title.
On the strength of two first inning home runs, the Bulldogs jumped to a 4-0 lead. In the fourth inning, the Lady Vols began to rally. Jessica Spigner hit a two-run home run to make it a 4-2 game.
Then, in the bottom of the sixth inning, Spigner hit her second home run of the game to tie the game 5-5.
In the bottom of the 8th, Shelby Burchell completed the dramatic comeback with a walk-off solo home run.
The Lady Vols also won the tournament championship in 2006.
