KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (UT Release) - A powerful week's effort at the plate in helping the #10/9 Tennessee Lady Vol softball team (31-9) to a doubleheader split against #9/10 Georgia and the program's first-ever road sweep at Auburn earned sophomore Madison Shipman her first career selection as the Southeastern Conference Player of the Week (April 9).
The Big Orange has now garnered five weekly league selections in 2012 as junior Ivy Renfroe was previously chosen as the SEC Pitcher of the Week on March 5, junior third baseman Raven Chavanne was selected as the SEC Player of the Week on Feb. 27 and sophomore pitcher Ellen Renfroe was tabbed as the SEC Pitcher of the Week on both Feb. 13 and March 26.
