Waggner, Jackson named to Nagurski watch list

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (AP) -- Tennessee defensive tackle Malik Jackson and defensive back Prentiss Waggner have been named to the watch list for the prestigious Bronko Nagurski Trophy, which honors the defensive player of the year.

Waggner, a junior from Clinton, La., is also being watched for the Chuck Bednarik Award and Lott IMPACT Trophy Award, both which honor the top defensive player in college football.

Jackson, a senior from Northridge, Calif., has also been added to the watch list for the Outland Trophy, which honors the best interior lineman.

Earlier this week, Vols senior tailback Tauren Poole and sophomore quarterback were selected for the watch list for the Maxwell Award, which honors college football's most outstanding player.
